Our Favorite Week at the Beach
We look forward to our week at the beach every year. The closer we get, we begin to count down the days with excitement to relax, enjoy family time and eat all the seafood that we can possibly consume in one week!
I would have to say we have done our fair share of trying all the Florida beach locations from Destin to Panama City, 30A to Seaside, Orange Beach to Perdido Key and every year we truly enjoy being somewhere less busy with hidden local places to eat. We find this in Perdido Key. Its clean, quaint, slow and peaceful. Close enough to larger shopping locations but isn’t swamped with chain restaurants.
We love staying right on the beach. It never feels overly crowded or packed with people at the pool. And the location is key when it comes to the local restaurants, pier fishing, outdoor jogs, treasure hunting at beach stores and your local grocery store. This truly is a place that we can relax and unwind. We enjoy nothing more then keeping our toes in the sand and our bums in a chair for a week and this place is our favorite.
A couple of our favorite local eateries are Flora-bama Yacht Club (pictured above) where it’s all outdoor seating on the bay side of Perdido Key. The food is not what you’d expect from what looks like a beach bar. It’s so much better! Our favorite dish is the crawfish and shrimp stuffed cannelloni.
Another have-to while we are there is Fisherman’s Corner. This restaurant is located in a trailer that looks to be added on to more then a few times. But when you walk in it is white table clothes and fine dinning. Make sure to send someone early to put your name because tables go quick and this is a place you can’t pass up while in Perdido.
Headed the other way on the island you can’t miss going to Cobalt which is right on the water with gorgeous views and a high end atmosphere. The food is amazing and you’ll want to stay to watch the sunset with dessert and a glass of wine!
One stop we love to make which is on the outskirts of the island is to Cosmo’s and the ice cream shop that is connected to it called BuzzCatz. Don’t miss getting the coffee ice cream here. It’s the best i’ve ever had!
Cosmo’s is an easy dinning experience with food you’d find at the most upscale restaurants. You won’t leave hungry here and to be honest, you will probably be hoping to come back to this cute shopping, eating and creamery location before you leave!
If you make the trip to Perdido Key I hope you can at least try a few of our favorites. I’d love to know where your favorite eats and drinks are on your favorite beach trips too!
